A few months ago, the Tor Project announced the availability of its Android browser in beta. After several weeks of testing, Tor is now available to everyone in the Google Play Store in its stable version. This tor browser allows you to route your web visits through the Tor network, which is made up of thousands of encrypted computers around the world.

Thus, navigation passes through multiple network nodes before reaching its final destination, allowing you to maintain your anonymity while encrypting your communications, in the same way as a VPN. It also makes it possible to bypass any kind of censorship or geo-restrictions.

The Tor version is based on Firefox . So its look and experience is just like Mozilla Browser. No need to install Orbot Agent separately, it is directly integrated into the browser, which makes the experience more comfortable and similar to that of PC, Mac and Linux. Tor for Android has the same version 11.0.8 as the PC version.

“While there are still functional gaps between the desktop and Android versions of the Tor browser, we are confident that Tor for Android offers essentially the same protection that you get on PC,” the Tor Project team says in a note on the official website. The app is also available on the App store for iOS.
