Huawei to pre-install 70 Android applications on Google's private smartphones

Huawei has decided to pre-install 70 popular Android applications from the Play Store on its future smartphones. Deprived of Google's applications and services, the Chinese group will also impose a series of alternatives of its own, including Huawei Video, on its users.

Huawei to pre-install 70 Android applications on Google's private smartphones

Huawei intends to pre-install 70 Android applications on private smartphones in the Play
Store and Google Mobile Services, our colleagues at Mobiltelefon reported on February 6. The media apparently attended a presentation by Huawei behind closed doors reserved for journalists from Eastern Europe. The firm detailed the measures put in place to survive the embargo decreed by Donald Trump in May 2019.

First of all, Huawei will pre-install a large amount of popular applications. This decision is obviously intended to compensate for the absence of the Play Store. Huawei wants to allow regular users to easily access their favorite applications without having to install an APK or App Gallery, its alternative to the Google Play Store. Of course, it will still be possible to install additional applications.

Depending on your country of residence, the list of applications that will be pre-installed on your Huawei smartphone will be different. To select which applications will be integrated by default into their phones, the manufacturer will simply use the Google Play Store's ranking. Nevertheless, Huawei should not be allowed to integrate certain ultra-popular American applications, such as Facebook or WhatsApp, following sanctions.

The Chinese firm will also offer users Chinese alternatives to Google's services. Not surprisingly, these services will be pre-installed in the same way as the most popular Android applications in your region. These include Huawei Video instead of YouTube and an alternative to Google Maps developed with Tom-Tom. As announced, Huawei has drawn a line under Google applications.

70 Android applications pre-installed on the P40?

According to the media, Huawei should start putting this into practice on the Huawei P40, P40 Pro and P40 Lite, its next flagship products. After the failed launch of the Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro in Europe, Huawei can no longer afford to let the situation get out of control, and the Huawei P40s will be introduced at the end of March 2020. We'll tell you more about this as soon as possible. In the meantime, feel free to give your opinion in the comments below.
