Android 9.0 Pie: the list of compatible smartphones

Android 9.0 Pie is official since Monday, August 6, 2018. Discover here the list of all smartphones that are or will be compatible with Android 9.0 Pie. We will update it with all models that will be entitled to a deployment of the latest Google OS and with smartphones that will natively embed it.


In this article we provide you with a list of all smartphones that are confirmed to be compatible with Android 9.0 Pie, either through the deployment of an update or that Android 9.0 Pie is natively present on the smartphone. For the moment, we know that Google's Pixels are of course concerned.

This year, Google will abandon some Nexus : Nexus 5X and 6P will not receive the update to Android 9.0 Pie. Below is a list of all smartphones whose Android 9.0 Pie compatibility has been confirmed. They are classified by brand, themselves proposed in alphabetical order so that you can easily find your way around.

Android 9.0 Pie should benefit from better support from Project Treble than Android Oreo. We are waiting to see, but in theory we should see better software monitoring by manufacturers. We hope that they will play the game of updates, whereas we were disappointed by the low adoption rate of Android Oreo. Android 9.0 Pie: how to download and install the update

Android 9.0 Pie is now available on Google Pixel, Essential Phone, Nokia 7 Plus and Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S. When the Android 9.0 Pie update is available on your smartphone, here is how to install it:
  •     Go to the Settings of your smartphone or tablet
  •     Select About the device
  •     Choose Software update
  •     Click on Update
